Skilled nursing services include services listed in the ISP that are within the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act and require the education, assessment, judgment and intervention of a registered professional nurse (RN), or licensed practical nurse (LPN) under the supervision of an RN. The RN and LPN are licensed to practice in the state of Hawaii.
Skilled Nursing Services include the provision of nursing assessment, treatments and observation consistent with an order by a practitioner with prescriptive authority in accordance with Hawaii state law and specified in the ISP in the participant’s record.
Skilled Nursing services are provided on an intermittent, part-time and time-limited basis. “Intermittent and part-time” is defined as occurring at irregular intervals, sporadic, and not continuous.
Skilled Nursing services must fall within the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act and be provided by an RN or an LPN under the supervision of an RN.
